**Weekend Trip with Parent and Child**

Our family has an annual travel plan with our children, and this year was no exception. The significance of travel lies in feeling, experiencing, and discovering. This time, I was not alone; my daughter’s small eyes accompanied me to see the world. The outing I had promised my daughter for a long time finally took place in May.

**Destination: Shanghai Sun Island Resort**

When choosing the destination, I considered for a long time and finally chose the nearby Shanghai Sun Island Resort. The parent-child hotel is suitable for a family of three, and a hotel that allows pets to stay is truly rare. So, a group of three people and our 16-month-old dog drove a car and headed for Qingpu District in a mighty way!

Sun Island is located near Shanghai, close to Zhujiajiao Ancient Town. It is shaped like a shuttle, with the river flowing continuously, as if weaving for history and taking shape for civilization. In May, the vegetation on the island is lush, the willows are green, and the grass is everywhere, giving it a bit of the charm of April’s fragrant beauty and a paradise.

**Route to Sun Island Resort**

To reach Sun Island Resort, take the Shanghai-Qingpu Expressway and get off at the Zhujiajiao Exit. Turn left into Zhufeng Highway, move forward and then turn left into Shenzhuan Highway. Continue moving forward and turn right into Shentai Highway. Drive about 5 kilometers ahead to reach the destination, Sun Island Resort.

This trip was a memorable experience for our family, filled with joy and new discoveries. It was a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure, making it a weekend to remember.

The check-in lobby and villa area of Sun Island are separated. After completing the procedures, you can drive by yourself or take the short shuttle bus on the island to your room. The villa area is very large, with lush vegetation and adjacent to the Mao River. Walking there gives a feeling of a secluded path. We chose the club parent-child room close to the river. Before checking in, it was introduced that this room type is 71 square meters. After arriving, we found it was indeed very spacious. The soft furnishings in the room are all cartoon themes that babies like. As soon as you enter, you can see a large flight chess carpet. There are also several boxes of Lego toys, children’s tents and cartoon dolls. It is indeed a Shanghai parent-child hotel with zero negative reviews. The room is equipped with a capsule coffee machine and free soft drinks. In addition, a bottle of red wine produced by the hotel’s brother brand is given, which feels very valuable. The room has a bunk bed design, a double bed + a baby bed. The bathroom has an independent bathtub, children’s special toothbrush and toothpaste, and a children’s toilet seat, which is very considerate.

Play:
I heard that the equestrian club of Shanghai Sun Island Resort is very famous before coming. After having breakfast the next day, I took my daughter to walk the horses. At first, my daughter was a little afraid when she saw the big horse. Later, the staff brought a small pony for her to ride, and she immediately fell in love with it.Protective gear will be worn before getting on the horse. The staff will lead the horse throughout the process, so there is no danger. The baby had a great time.

Seeing that there are many children learning professional equestrian skills at the equestrian club (Shanghai Sun Island Equestrian Club), it is very handsome. There are many places on the island suitable for children to play. We chose to go to the Ingenuity Hall to do handicrafts first. There are teaching teachers and tool kits. You just need to follow the instructions. We chose a piece of soft pottery and a leather bag, and finally completed them all successfully!

The weather in May is already relatively hot. There are many people gathered here at Mermaid Wharf. Water activities have become popular. A family of three rents a water bicycle, which is very comfortable.

Food: For the first day’s dinner, the family tried the small hot pot. One person has one pot. The set meal includes vegetables, meat, fish and shellfish. The pork bone soup is thickly cooked. I heard that the vegetables are organic vegetables grown on the island. They taste very crisp. With meat and seafood, it is completely enough to eat. If you still feel hungry, you can add a staple food. There is no limit.

The next day’s breakfast is eaten in the hotel’s buffet restaurant. I must praise it. It is of very high quality among hotels. There are Chinese and Western styles. The noodles in the open kitchen are very delicious. The self-made soy milk and yogurt are excellent.For lunch, we chose the Waterfall Western Restaurant on the first floor of the lobby. We were so full in the morning that the three of us were not very hungry. We ordered a special children’s meal for our daughter. The tableware for children is very popular. The freshly made hamburger and juice are very popular. My husband and I tried the new dirty milk, a dessert made with fresh milk and fruits. It is very good to have a cup in early summer when it is cool.

If you want Western food, there are also salads and bread. The whole family is very satisfied.

Pet Paradise: After putting down our luggage, we took Chopper (my silly dog) and went straight to the pet paradise. Before we arrived, we saw various dog owners. Chopper was extremely excited. The pet paradise is divided into indoor and outdoor areas. Indoors, you can have afternoon tea for your dog, play on the climbing frame and in the ocean balls. Outdoors is an extremely large lawn for walking the dog. You can also let your dog swim. It is a professional pet swimming pool with different depths. It is worth mentioning that Shanghai Sun Island Resort Hotel offers pet boarding and pet training services. It is equipped with professional dog trainers who can help dogs correct bad habits and learn some skills. Chopper was boarded here for an afternoon. The little guy was timid and kept barking. The staff was very patient and gave him biscuits and yogurt. Super nice.

Mermaid Little Train: The little train is composed of blue and white colors.The two sides of the train body are painted with colorful paintings, full of childlike charm. It stops at three stations along the way: hotel lobby, mermaid pier, and small green space. Once you buy a ticket, you can ride it all day. Looking at the island scenery along the way makes you feel relaxed. The children have learned what they should learn, and it has fulfilled my original intention of this trip. Although we were unable to book the lakeside outdoor barbecue, I am still very satisfied with this trip to Sun Island. Imperfect beauty, perfection in imperfection!
