Nanhui Estuary Seaside Park is located not far from the east side of Dishui Lake by the sea. Although there is no beautiful beach here, and the shore is full of yellow mud and tidal flats, the sea surface is still quite wide. It is one of the few places in Shanghai where you can see the sea. Many locals and tourists from surrounding areas will come here to relax. The landmark building in the park is the ‘sundial’ sculpture.
To the south of it is the ‘World Azimuth Meridian Commemorative Square’. The center of it is the ‘Nanhui Estuary coordinate point identification’, echoing the main sundial sculpture. Around the square are urban coordinates engraved with the azimuth latitudes and longitudes of the world’s top ten port cities. Connecting the commemorative square is the landscape floor with the theme of ‘pioneering’. Looking at the sea and enjoying the breeze here feels good.
