Olympic Forest Park is located at the northern end of Beijing’s central axis extension and is one of Asia’s largest urban greening landscapes, even larger than the combined area of the Old Summer Palace and the Summer Palace. After the Olympic Games, it was opened to the public. Jogging for fitness, strolling and cycling, or taking a boat ride and enjoying the clear waters are all very relaxing activities within the park.
The park is divided into a north and south garden, connected by an ecological bridge over the Fifth Ring Road, filled with plants. The south garden is dominated by large natural landscapes, while the north garden features small streams and dense forests, making it the well-deserved ‘green lung’ of Beijing’s urban area. Notable attractions within the forest park are ‘Yangshan’ and ‘Aohi’. In addition to the beautiful scenery, it is also a place for local residents to leisure and entertain, allowing visitors to observe the authentic life of Beijingers while enjoying the views. The park is quite large, and many Beijing residents choose to come here for running and fitness on weekends. The park offers three types of plastic tracks: 3km, 5km, and 10km, allowing you to choose according to your physical strength. Elderly people can take sightseeing electric vehicles to enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the park. Couples can rent a tandem bicycle to enjoy a romantic time in nature. A family of three can take a boat ride on the lake, admiring the schools of koi fish in the water, and spend a pleasant weekend together. You can also invite some friends, bring a tent and a picnic cloth, lie on the lawn, chat, and bask in the sun. Opening hours: November 16th to March 14th from 06:00 to 20:00; March 15th to November 15th from 06:00 to 21:00.Olympic Forest Park
