Panshan Martyrs Cemetery is located at the southern foot of Panshan Mountain in Jixian County, Tianjin. It was completed in 1957. It is a relatively large martyrs cemetery in eastern Hebei and also a martyrs cemetery for anti-Japanese war sites in Tianjin. The cemetery covers an area of 20 hectares. The main buildings include the martyrs monument, the martyrs’ tomb area, the stele corridor of the brief history of the revolutionary struggle in Jixian County, the Panshan Revolutionary Memorial Hall, the Shihai battle site, the sculpture of ‘Eternal Memory’, and the memorial archway.
The overall architecture is rich in national style, magnificent, solemn and majestic. In the cemetery, the pines and cypresses are lush. The monument is built of white marble blocks. Inside the martyrs memorial hall are portraits of martyrs, biographies and a list of martyrs’ names. Near the cemetery are also slogan slogans engraved on rocks by anti-Japanese soldiers of the Jidong guerrillas in those years, as well as sites such as battlefields, meeting venues, radio stations, and newspaper offices.
