The Pingjin Campaign Memorial Hall is located on the north side of Tianjin urban area, close to Honghuli Station on Line 1. It is a themed memorial hall reflecting the Pingjin Campaign. The Pingjin Campaign was from the end of 1948 to the beginning of 1949. It liberated most of North China including Beijing and Tianjin. It is an important battle in the process of establishing New China. The Tianjin Pingjin Campaign Memorial Hall consists of two major parts: the memorial square and the exhibition hall.
On the memorial square, there is a more than 60-meter victory commemorative cup, group bronze sculptures, artillery, tanks, armored vehicles and other displays for visitors to take pictures. Inside the exhibition hall, there are several exhibition halls such as the orderly hall, battle decision-making hall, battle implementation hall, people’s support front hall, great victory hall, heroic deeds hall and multi-dimensional demonstration hall. Through a large number of cultural relics, photos, sand tables, etc., the process of the Pingjin Campaign is displayed. Moreover, there are also display methods of modern technology such as movies and electric sand tables. It is a good place to learn about the history of the Pingjin Campaign and the Liberation War.
