Qinhuangdao Safari Park is located in the world-renowned tourist destination, Beidaihe Scenic Area, adjacent to the vast Bohai Bay to the east, connected to the famous Beidaihe attraction, Dove Nest, to the south, backed by the Jingshan Railway to the west, and close to the Asian Games Village to the north. It is a must-visit place on the north-south tourism route of Qinhuangdao. Initially established in 1995, the park is situated within the lush greenery and golden sand of Beidaihe Seashore National Forest Park, facing the Shallow Water Bay Bathing Beach across the road, a 2-minute walk away, covering an area of over 5,000 acres. It is currently one of the largest urban planning wildlife parks in China with high forest coverage and a beautiful natural environment.
The park houses over 120 species of rare and famous birds and beasts from around the world, as well as first and second-class protected animals in our country, totaling more than 4,000 heads (or individuals). The wildlife park is divided into six animal exhibition areas: cage-raising area, predator area, African style garden, central square pet paradise, herbivore area, and walking tour area. Visitors can drive their own vehicles or take sightseeing buses within the park for visits. The zoo makes full use of the forest and green spaces here, imitating the original living environments of various animals to separate and raise them in different areas, creating an atmosphere of returning to simplicity and nature, and forming a tourism characteristic of harmonious integration between humans and nature. Qinhuangdao Safari Park was awarded the title of ‘National 4A Scenic Spot’ at the end of 2002. It has successively been rated as ‘Top Ten Tourist Attractions in Hebei Province’, ‘Civilized Scenic Spot Demonstration Site in Hebei Province’, ‘Smart Scenic Spot Demonstration Site of the Province in 2021’, ‘Science Popularization Education Base in Hebei Province’, and ‘Civilized Tourism Scenic Spot Demonstration Site’, among many other honors. Opening hours are as follows: 01/01-06/25 from 08:30 to 17:30; 06/26-08/19 from 08:00 to 18:00; 08/20-08/25 from 08:00 to 17:30; 08/26-09/30 from 08:30 to 17:30; 10/01 from 08:30 to 17:30; 10/06-10/07 from 08:30 to 17:30; 10/02-10/05 from 07:30 to 18:00; 10/08-10/31 from 08:30 to 17:00. Preferential policies: Children: under 6 years old (inclusive) or under 1.2 meters (inclusive), with ID card, household registration book, or medical insurance card (age calculated by year), free of charge. Minors: aged 7 to 18 years old (inclusive) (age calculated by year), half price. Students: full-time undergraduate students and below with valid documents (excluding postgraduate and above, correspondence and other non-full-time students), half price. Elderly: aged 60 to 69 years old (inclusive), with elderly card or ID card.Half price for those under 18 years old and students (calculated by year). Free for holders of ‘Hebei Province Honor Card for Blood Donation’. Free for people with disabilities with disability certificates. For severely disabled people with grade one or two physical disabilities, blind people, and people with intellectual disabilities, one accompanying person is allowed to enter for free. If there is a modified vehicle for people with disabilities, presenting the driving license and vehicle license can exempt the vehicle ticket. Free for high-level talents of Qinhuangdao Doctor and Expert Association with valid certificates. Free for disabled military personnel with valid certificates. From September 1st to June 30th of the following year, small vehicles are charged 3 yuan per hour, large vehicles are charged 5 yuan per hour. The maximum 24-hour charging standard amount is 20 yuan for small vehicles and 30 yuan for large vehicles. Luggage storage: Reference price: 10 yuan per piece for luggage bags and small luggage, 20 yuan per piece for trolley cases. Address: Tourist center. Bathrooms: There are multiple bathrooms in the scenic area, located near the parking lot, elephant house, small train station, African garden, central square, opposite the peacock garden, etc., and are marked with eye-catching signs.
