The Shanghai Aquatic Sports Center is located in the northeast of the beautiful Dianshan Lake. It is a domestic aquatic training base. The Asian Rowing Federation calls it the largest and most advanced aquatic training and competition venue in the Far East. There is a land area of 10 hectares and a water area of 50 hectares. The 7-meter-wide cement road in the center of the embankment can be used for sports training and small competitions such as marathons, race walking, and cycling. The main project of the aquatic sports center is designed according to international competition standards with a main channel 150 meters wide, 2250 meters long, and 3 meters deep, which is a training ground for rowing and canoeing. At the starting point, there are convenient and flexible trestle equipment and remote control devices. At the finish line, there is a 7-story, 25-meter-high building with curved glass windows. The computer transmits referee instructions and accurately records competition results and rankings. On the side of the main channel is the secondary channel 60 meters wide and 850 meters long, which is connected to the main channel by two 8-meter-wide bridges and is used for pre-competition training. On the south side is a 5500-square-meter water dock where more than 200 sailboats of various types can be parked. There are also 28 individual projects such as a land-based gym, oar training room, restaurant, athlete living building, and guesthouse, as well as basketball courts, tennis courts, and a standard track and field. Opening hours: 10:00 – 18:00 from January 1st to December 31st.
