Besides the crowded Shanghai Disney tourism, coming here to clear one’s mind is even better! I’ve been to Shanghai many times and it’s no longer novel. This time, I went specifically to accompany a friend to relax. We didn’t want to join the hustle and bustle of tourist spots; we just wanted to spend a few days in peace.

Thus, while planning, I discovered this homestay. The name of the homestay is **Shanghai Zen Spring Cultural Center**. It’s not difficult to find it among the many buildings in Shanghai. The center’s former building was the earliest old bank in Chuansha, covering an area of about 1800 square meters. After a century of wind and rain, it still retains its front and back courtyards.

After renovation, the architecture is more orderly, and the old house with Zen courtyard elements is integrated seamlessly. The door of the Zen Spring Cultural Center is quite heavy, made from old shipwood, and requires a bit of effort to open. Strangely enough, the moment you push the door open, there seems to be a feeling of concentration and gathering of spirit, coupled with the fresh and elegant Zen atmosphere behind the door, one can immerse themselves, and spend a holiday quietly and peacefully.

The center is filled with the rich Zen atmosphere of root carvings, calligraphy, incense, and tea ceremony at all times.
This trip to Shanghai was originally intended for relaxation, and the slow-paced life here is indeed very enjoyable. The homestay boasts a variety of cultural artifacts, each with unique and intriguing shapes that are not only fun to interact with for extended periods but also perfect for photo opportunities.

The reception hall is expansive, covering hundreds of square meters, and adjacent to it is a tea break area. It’s a delightful spot to enjoy a cup of tea and engage in conversation with friends. The Han-style suite is exceptionally spacious, spanning over 100 square meters, with a style that is cohesive and imbued with a sense of Zen. The affordability is another highlight, with prices starting at around 2500 yuan. It’s not the fleeting internet celebrity style but rather one that endures in both appearance and experience. No matter how many times you visit, the charm never fades. This has been my most significant impression after staying here.

If you find yourself in Shanghai, I highly recommend experiencing it for yourself to see if it aligns with your personal taste preferences.
