During shuhari’s China tour in 2018, I was very fortunate to watch their performance at Yuyintang. That night, I was deeply shocked by their music. This three-member band created huge waves at Yuyintang with only the most simple three major rock instruments. I still remember the scene where guitarist Kohei was kneeling and sitting among a large circle of effect pedals. When I looked back, I saw the eyes of the audience deeply immersed in it. That was a truly deep and pure post-rock experience that only the bands most proficient in this genre can create for the audience.
Since that year, I have started learning and practicing post-rock music. After a long period of polishing, An Corporation released its debut album in June. Almost at the same time, shuhari agreed to our invitation for a joint tour. This is also shuhari’s performance in China again after six years.
