The museum utilizes advanced technological methods to promote the achievements of Shanghai’s tunnel construction and management, and conducts scientific popularization education for the whole society through interactive and participatory forms. Inside the museum, the interior of a large slurry balance shield tunnel is reconstructed, allowing visitors to experience the tunnel construction site up close; the upper deck of the Fuxing East Road Tunnel is enhanced with a projection screen and real vehicle tunnel passage simulation, increasing its authenticity; in the virtual interactive area, visitors can truly experience the feeling of driving through tunnels using large-scale projections and vehicle models.
The museum is open on Tuesdays and Fridays from 13:00 to 16:30 all year round; on Saturdays from 13:00 to 16:30 all year round; and on Saturdays from 09:00 to 11:30 all year round, with specific opening times subject to the on-site notice at the scenic spot.Shanghai Tunnel Science Museum
