Sheg An Palace is located in Yi Chang Village, Ji An Township, where the main deity worshipped in the hall is the Queen Mother of the West, making it a well-known Taoist site in Hualien. It is said that one night, a local resident saw a white light fall directly between the two temples (there is a memorial stone at the current site), and then a dignified goddess rose slowly until she disappeared. It is believed that this dignified goddess must have been the mother of the Jade Emperor who descended to the mortal world to save all living beings, hence the construction of the temple. Believers spread throughout the province.
