The Shidu Gushanzhai scenic area is located in Qidu Village and is named after three isolated peaks. There are many geological wonders in Shidu Gushanzhai, which are the concentrated manifestation of the geological changes of Shidu over millions of years. Shidu Gushanzhai is a well-known grand canyon in the Shidu scenic area, with a depth of about 10 kilometers. Entering the canyon, there are towering peaks on both sides and strange rocks everywhere.
The deeper you go, the steeper the mountains become, the narrower the canyon gets, the lusher the vegetation becomes, and the more secluded and beautiful the scenery is. In the canyon, flowers bloom continuously throughout the year and are fragrant and charming. Roaming in Gushanzhai, you can fully enjoy the wind moving in the forest, insects chirping among the rocks, mountains showing layers of greenery, and sweet springs moistening the sound of the zither. Every step in Shidu Gushanzhai is a scenic spot, and it is like a painting in all seasons. In early spring, mountain flowers are in full bloom; in summer, the greenery is lush, spring eyes gush out, and the temperature here does not exceed 25 degrees Celsius; in autumn, the cool breeze brings comfort, maples and sumacs are like fire, and persimmons are on the branches; in winter, it is wrapped in white snow, and green pines add beauty. Here, tourism resources are unique. There are ‘Yixiantian’. The legendary story of ‘splitting the mountain to save the mother’ that has been passed down for thousands of years took place here. There are also landscapes such as ‘Mountain Gate Welcoming Guests’, ‘Fairy Bathing Pool’, ‘Nine Dragons Holding Stone’, ‘Five Old Peaks’, ‘Ancient Riverbed’, ‘Purifying Pool’, ‘Stone within Stone’, ‘Yinchuan Ice Valley’, ‘Cherishing Water Pool’, and ‘Brother Spring Gushing’.
