Located in the heart of Tangshan city, Tangshan Nanhu Tourist Scenic Area is a national 5A-level tourist attraction, covering a total planning area of 30 square kilometers. It successfully hosted the 2016 World Horticultural Exposition and has become a beautiful business card for Tangshan to carry historical context, highlight good ecology, and showcase development achievements.
The scenic area has been honored with several awards, including the National Typical Case of Ecological Product Value Realization, the first batch of National-level Nighttime Cultural and Tourism Consumption Aggregation Districts, and the 2021 National Smart Scenic Area Excellent Case. The scenic area includes 133 scenic spots and implements more than 40 key projects such as light and water dance shows, shadow play theme parks, love trails, and visitor centers. It has cultivated more than 50 special business formats, including international garden exotic dining, live performances of ‘That Year’s Youth’ and ‘The Promise of Our Youth’, and lakeside memories, achieving comprehensive development of tourism elements such as ‘food, accommodation, transportation, sightseeing, shopping, and entertainment’. Holding more than 100 major brand events such as the Nanhu Spring Festival Lantern Fair, large-scale outdoor live shows, and the shadow play theme park ice and snow joy season, the scenic area receives (700) million visitors per year and has been featured on CCTV multiple times, making Nanhu a popular place for Tangshan citizens and a new hot spot for Beijing-Tianjin tourism.
