The Tangshan Botanical Garden is located on the south side of Nanhu Park on Jianshe South Road. With a total land area of 55.45 hectares, it is a new interactive botanical garden integrating six functions: ornamental, popular science, ecology, economy, culture, and scientific research. At this entrance, a Wulian stone as high as 9.9 meters stands majestically, symbolizing the long and happy life of Tangshan citizens.
It is produced in Wulian County, Rizhao City, Shandong Province. Weighing nearly 500 tons, it is the largest standing stone in North China. The five characters ‘Tangshan Botanical Garden’ are personally inscribed by Zhang Hai, the chairman of the Chinese Calligraphers Association. It is the ‘treasure stone of the garden’.
