The Dagongbao newspaper, which was first published in Tianjin, had three former sites in the city. During several large-scale urban renovations, the inaugural site from 1902 and the Dagongbao printing factory on Harbin Road were successively demolished. The only remaining site is the one built and put into use in 1906, located in the bustling Jin Street (He Ping Road) with a four-sided clock in Tianjin.
Due to the relocation of Dagongbao to Beijing in 1956, the newspaper company donated this building to the state without compensation. This three-story Japanese-style building is well-preserved. Over half a century, Dagongbao spent its more glorious years here, where many famous journalists, including Fan Changjiang, became well-known, and countless world-shaking masterpieces were produced.Must Read
