Tianjin Christian Church, Cangmenkou Hall is located to the east of the Drum Tower in the old city, initially established by the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions in the 1860s. It was destroyed by the Boxers in 1900 and was subsequently rebuilt.
The church complex, facing south, comprises the main gate, side rooms, and the sanctuary, covering an area of 1241 square meters with a construction area of 1126 square meters. When the church was first established, the sanctuary was built along the street. As the congregation grew, the sanctuary was rebuilt and moved to the rear of the church in 1934. The sanctuary is a two-story modern religious building with a distinctive design featuring blue bricks, pointed arches, and a corrugated iron roof, capable of accommodating over four hundred people for worship. The church compound includes mostly two-story buildings, with an outer courtyard consisting of two-story buildings housing a total of 18 rooms. Two of these rooms are used for office and reception, while the other sixteen are for the residence of clergy and believers. A small chapel is built along the street, seating fifty to sixty people, and is used for evangelistic purposes. All church buildings are constructed with brick and wood structures, featuring tall doors and windows, making it an important church with a long history in Tianjin. The opening hours and business status are subject to the daily conditions.Tianjin Christian Church, Cangmenkou Hall
