Tianjin Library is one of the provincial public libraries with an early establishment and a long history in China. Since the establishment of Zhili Library in 1908 (the 34th year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty), nearly a century has passed. The architectural design concept is ‘Wisdom Paradise’, emphasizing that the library is a building that carries wisdom. Functionally, it realizes shared reading for the elderly and teenagers, making it a paradise for citizens who love knowledge.


Opening hours: Closed all day on Mondays throughout the year; Open from 09:00 to 18:30 from Tuesday to Sunday throughout the year; Open from 09:00 to 16:00 on New Year’s Eve; Open from 09:00 to 22:00 during the Spring Festival. The opening hours of each floor in the library are different. The specific business status is subject to the opening situation on that day.


Must-see tips: 1. Please pay attention to your appearance. Do not enter the library wearing vests, slippers or shoes with iron nails. 2. Please store your carry-on bags and other items in the storage cabinet first before entering the borrowing area. 3. Please complete the borrowing procedures before taking books and periodicals out of the library. If you take books and periodicals away without permission, they will be dealt with in accordance with relevant regulations.


4. Please keep the library area quiet. Do not make noise in the reading area or use audible communication tools. 6. Smoking and using open flames are strictly prohibited in the library area. Do not bring flammable and explosive items into the library. 7. Please keep the library clean. Do not eat in the reading area for readers. Do not spit or throw confetti, peels and other sundries on the ground.
