The Tianjin Textile Museum is located in Tianfang Building, Airport Economic Zone, Binhai New Area, Tianjin. The museum’s collections involve 15 major categories. The museum is divided into four parts: ancient textiles, modern and contemporary textiles, contemporary textiles and special exhibition areas. More than 300 volumes of literature, more than 5,000 pictures and more than 2,000 utensils are on display.
The exhibition text description reaches more than 50,000 words. Various textile machinery has become a major highlight in the exhibition hall. In addition to the wooden and iron textile machine with a history of more than 100 years from a farmer’s family in Renqiu, Hebei Province, the restored ancient textile machinery invented by Huang Daopo; the roving waste machine manufactured by an American enterprise in 1920 and purchased by Beiyang Yarn Mill and used until 2008; the vertical opening machine manufactured by Japan Co. , Ltd. and Katetsu Office in 1921 and the spinning machine independently developed by Tianjin are also displayed in prominent positions in the exhibition hall, allowing tourists to more intuitively feel the profound history of Tianjin textiles.
