Tianjin Yuansheng Tea House, formerly known as Jinsheng Tea Garden, is one of the four famous gardens during the Qing Dynasty’s Jiaqing and Daoguang periods. With a history of 120 years, this tea garden was once a gathering place for literati, artists, and performing artists, holding a significant position in Tianjin’s theatrical scene. Renowned actors from Tianjin and Beijing such as Sun Juxian, Li Jirui, and Yuan Yuanhong, as well as the first generation of female performers in Peking Opera and Bangzi like Xiao Rongfu and Yang Cuixi, have all performed here, earning a prestigious reputation in history.

The current Yuansheng Tea House was rebuilt in 2001 based on the original ‘Yuansheng Tea House’ near the Drum Tower in the old city area. The rebuilt tea house is simple and elegant, featuring a large, tranquil hall of about 180 square meters that integrates meetings and entertainment. The tea house boasts 10 tea rooms with distinct styles. In the serene tea rooms, one can enjoy tea and discuss philosophy, with green tile buildings and red painted corridors, blending tradition with modernity.

Currently, Yuansheng Tea House hosts drama and traditional performance arts every evening from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Additionally, the tea house regularly holds art salons, calligraphy and painting gatherings, and amateur singing events. Opening hours are from 12:00 to 22:00 all year round.

Preferential policy for children: those under 1.2 meters in height who do not occupy a seat enter for free.
