Tianta Lake Scenic Area is located on the southern side of Tianjin city, adjacent to the Shuishang Park Scenic Area, and is a scenic spot centered around the Tianjin Radio and Television Tower. The Tianjin Radio and Television Tower, also known as Tianta, stands at 415 meters tall and was the tallest in Asia and one of the tallest ‘towers in the water’ in the world at the time of its completion.
Tianta offers a variety of entertainment and sightseeing services, with the highlight being the observation deck within the tower. The 270-meter high sightseeing platform is the focal point, from which one can enjoy a panoramic view of the entire Tianjin city, especially the beautiful night scenery when the city lights up, making it a favorite spot for photography enthusiasts. Telescopes are available on the observation deck, but there is a fee of 2 yuan per use. In addition to the observation deck, the tower also sells commemorative stamps, coins, and other souvenirs that visitors can choose to purchase. Another highlight within Tianta is the rotating restaurant, which completes a full rotation every 45 minutes, allowing diners to enjoy the cityscape while dining.
