Tin Hau Temple is considered to be the oldest temple on the outlying islands and was built around 1763. The temple still preserves an ancient bell with a long history, as well as the “Dechuizeguo” plaque on the Sifang Pavilion and the wine boat. The temple building consists of three rooms, with two entrances at the front and back, separated by the mountain gate and the square pavilion. Sifang Pavilion, also known as Bai Pavilion, was once used as a community meeting place. The belief in Queen of Heaven is very common in Macau, and fishermen firmly believe that Queen of Heaven can bless those who work at sea.
