Tumen Street, also known as ‘Tumen Jie’, is named after its historical role in storing and transporting earth and stone for the construction of the East and West Pagodas. Located in the urban area of Quanzhou, it stretches from Wenling Road in the east to Zhongshan Road in the west, spanning a length of 1005 meters. This bustling area integrates commerce, tourism, and culture. Along this street, which is just over 1000 meters long, there are numerous ‘Maritime Silk Road’ cultural relics and 13 Song and Yuan dynasty cultural heritage sites, including the Qingjing Mosque, Confucius Temple, Tonghuai Guan Yue Temple, Dongguan Xitai, Zulv Su, Shijia Dachu, Qipanguan, Donglu Lane, and Thirty-Two Rooms Lane, among others.
The architectural style of Tumen Street reflects, to some extent, the prosperity of Quanzhou during the Song and Yuan periods. After renovation, Tumen Street continues to embody the traditional Minnan architectural style of Quanzhou while integrating modern architectural elements. Tumen Street is one of the most commercially viable and bustling streets in Quanzhou and has been selected as a national ‘Shopping Trustworthy Street’. The opening hours are subject to the daily operational status.Tumen Street: A Prosperous Commercial and Cultural Hub in Quanzhou
