Xianhua Mountain Scenic Area is nestled in the lesser-known Pujiang County. Legend has it that when Liu Bowen passed by Xianhua Mountain, he was captivated by the perilous yet enchanting landscape, the ethereal clouds, and the verdant beauty, inspiring him to pen the verse: ‘Xianhua stands out, quite peculiar, gazing upon it as if clouds float in the vast sky.’ The prominent peaks are the highlights of the scenic area. The main activity here is to trek along the mountain paths to the higher Shàonǚ Peak. On clear days, the view of Pujiang city from above is quite beautiful.
Upon entering the mountain gate, one arrives at the Zhaoling Square. To the left is the West Route, and to the right is the East Route. The West Route is steeper and a bit farther, but it offers better scenery; the East Route is more gentle and easier to walk. Both lead to Shàonǚ Peak, and by choosing one way up and the other down, one avoids retracing their steps. It is important to note that there is a very narrow section on Shàonǚ Peak where visitors must hold onto chains to climb up, and only one person can pass at a time. Visitors with acrophobia should exercise caution. The scenic area is open year-round from 08:20 to 17:00. Preferential policies include: – Elderly: aged 60 to 70 (inclusive) with an elderly card or ID, half price; aged 70 and above (inclusive) with an elderly card or ID, free. – Minors: under 1.2 meters or aged 6 and below, free. – Disabled: with a disability certificate, free. – Military: active-duty soldiers with an officer’s certificate, free. – Journalists: with a press card issued by the State Press Bureau, free. – Photographers: with a membership card from a provincial or higher photography association, free. – Blood donors: with a blood donation certificate of 4000cc or more, free. – Students: minors aged 6 to 18 (inclusive); full-time undergraduate and below with a student card (excluding graduate students and correspondence students), half price.
