Sergej Krylov, a scion of a musical family, currently serves as the artistic director of the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra in both soloist and conductor capacities. He has won numerous international violin competitions, such as the Rodolfo Ripizer International Violin Competition in Italy, the Antonio Stradivari Violin Competition in Cremona, and the Fritz Kreisler Competition in Vienna. Krylov’s expressive musical talent, coupled with his superb violin skills, has led to a unique interpretation of the music, earning him the accolade of ‘One of the five top violinists in the century’ from cello maestro Mstislav Rostropovich.

The Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra was founded in 1960 by the renowned Lithuanian violinist and conductor Saulius Sondeckis. From its inception, the orchestra gained international acclaim for its superb musical skills and distinctive style. In 1976, the orchestra made its debut at the Echternach Festival in Luxembourg, receiving high praise from all quarters and becoming the first Lithuanian ensemble to appear in the West, thus entering the global music scene. Over the past six decades, the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra has collaborated closely with many soloists, conductors, and choirs, touring worldwide to prestigious venues such as the Berlin Philharmonic, Vienna’s Musikverein, London’s Royal Festival Hall, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, Paris’s Salle Pleyel, and Leipzig’s Gewandhaus. As ambassadors of Lithuanian music culture, the orchestra not only maintains a high level of excellence in their performances, which span from Baroque and classical music to contemporary works, but also actively promotes Lithuanian music.
