Forward Fashion Group has joined forces with the esteemed trend brand MEDICOM TOY to co-host the ‘BE@RBRICK World Tour 3’, an international trend art event curated by the multi-IP art exploration field ASCE. The fifth stop of this prestigious event was inaugurated with great fanfare at BELLAVITA Bellavita Plaza in Taipei, running from October 12 to November 10, 2024.
‘BE@RBRICK’, a collectible bear-shaped doll introduced by MEDICOM TOY, was first released in 2001 to honor the 100th anniversary of the Teddy Bear’s birth. The concept behind its creation was to ‘create a digital image of the Teddy Bear’. The BE@RBRICK stands out from traditional teddy bears and other dolls by adhering to a creative principle of simplicity: ‘not to add any additional elements beyond its nine body parts and to use printing technology for design.’ This approach has allowed BE@RBRICK to transition from a toy to a highly regarded contemporary art form, earning its place as one of the world’s most sought-after collectible dolls, cherished by collectors globally.
The ‘BE@RBRICK World Tour 3 Taipei Stop’ at BELLAVITA Bellavita Plaza is a two-part affair. The art space on the B1 level is dedicated to showcasing exclusive BE@RBRICK 1000% artworks crafted by 115 international artists. Among these, a highlight is the personally designed model by the late world-renowned Japanese musician Ryuichi Sakamoto, which was first exhibited in the ‘BE@RBRICK World Tour 2’ in 2015 and is now being displayed again after a nine-year hiatus. Additionally, three global debut exhibits are featured: Wang Yangming and his brand Empire Motor Club, Lou Junshuo’s design unit SHOUMETHEMONEYXX, and Zhou Tanghao and his trend brand Wish You A Good Life.On the other hand, the atrium on the first floor has a limited-time pop-up store (free entry). It offers a series of globally exclusive BE@RBRICK for art enthusiasts to purchase. The opening hours are from 10/12 to 11/10.
