In history, there are many ‘silent voices’. They may not be recorded in detail in the documents, but they have also walked on the land, participated in the times, and have unique life stories.

In the traditional society centered on men in the past, women were often relatively silent. However, how do women stand in history? What footprints have they left? This regular exhibition starts from the theme of female history and takes the ‘princesses of the Qing Dynasty’ who are still familiar in novels or dramas as the theme to try to explore these issues. The exhibition content is mainly based on the archives and documents of the Qing court collected by our institute, presenting the status system, interpersonal relationships, life stories of princesses in the Qing Dynasty, and their positions and significance in the political operation of the Qing Empire. In these various documents, perhaps we can look for what kind of voices and postures people outside the mainstream historical narrative have left in the past and present.

Opening hours: September 7 – December 1. The specific business status is subject to the opening situation on that day.
