Historical and Cultural Block of Yanhe Lane

The Historical and Cultural Block of Yanhe Lane is located between Xinpu Park and the Women’s Street of Longhai Pedestrian Street. It has a total area of 20,000 square meters. The first-phase construction area is 7,500 square meters. The overall architecture imitates the style of buildings in the Ming and Qing dynasties. The block is 440 meters long in total. It is 280 meters long from east to west and 160 meters long from south to north.

It is divided into three different functional sections, namely the leisure experience area, cultural shopping area, and catering and entertainment area. The business types are mainly cultural industries, interspersed with branded businesses, teahouses, leisure catering, antiques, calligraphy and paintings, etc. Walking in the Historical and Cultural Block of Yanhe Lane, one can feel the strong salt culture everywhere.

At the street-facing side of the block, there is a huge panoramic relief wall of salt production. On the block, there are also bronze sculptures and waterwheels showing the process of salt production and sale. The relief painting at the wishing pool scenic spot is based on the Hundred Flowers Fairy in the book ‘Jing Hua Yuan’, combined with the city flower of the port city – magnolia, creating the beautiful image of the Magnolia Fairy.
