This is a typical traditional three-section and three-courtyard building in Fujian style, completed by three generations of ancestors. The ancestors had no official positions or titles throughout the generations. They engaged in farming, fishing, and business. In modern times, they once operated grain stores and sugar departments. Although the ancient residence covers a large area, there are no luxurious pavilions or buildings with upturned eaves and ridges. It is just a simple and unadorned Minnan-style building. This actually implies the spirit of perseverance, hard work, and endurance of the Xuejia ancestors who cultivated here.
