Tainan Mituo Temple was established during the Yongli period of the Ming Dynasty. It is one of the four famous temples in the ancient city. When it was first built, it was not large in scale and was called Mituo Room. Later, after expansion, it was called Mituo Temple and also became one of the seven temples and eight temples in the ancient city. In 1858, shops and believers in the ancient city jointly donated a large bell. During World War II, the temple was destroyed in an air raid. At that time, the large bell was almost confiscated by the Japanese army and prepared to be melted down to make weapons. Fortunately, before being melted down, World War II also ended. Later, it was bought by an antique dealer and returned to Mituo Temple again.
