Sicao Bitu, located in Annan District, Tainan City, Taiwan, is renowned for its historical relics from the Ming Dynasty and ecological attractions, especially those related to Zheng Chenggong’s period. Sicao was the battlefield where Zheng Chenggong fought against the Dutch after landing in Taiwan. Behind the Sicao Public Temple, the remains of the Zheng-Dutch War are still preserved. The area boasts a green tunnel formed by mangroves and wetland landscapes, making it a popular tourist destination in Taiwan.
Sicao Wetland is famous for its rich natural ecology and as a paradise for bird habitats. Within the wetland, there is a water forest and Taiwan’s mangroves, earning it the nickname of ‘Miniature Amazon’. If you visit Sicao Wetland, it is recommended to take a bamboo raft to experience the tranquility of the afternoon in the water forest. You can enjoy the richest variety of mangrove wetland ecosystems in Taiwan, take a sightseeing fishing raft to leisurely travel through the green tunnel of Sicao, and catch a glimpse of the unique fairyland of ‘Angel’s Kiss’ and ‘Eye of the Green’. The entire area is open year-round from 08:00 to 17:00.
