Everyone living in this world is a traveler, including animals. As the end of the year approaches, Rich Art is honored to present the solo exhibition of artist Yoshiya Shirota – ‘Journey 9’. This exhibition is not only a visual feast but also a deep exploration of the soul. Life itself is an unceasing journey. As time passes, we can deeply observe, experience, and understand its value and beauty. The number 9 not only marks the ninth year of the artist’s life in Taiwan but also symbolizes the concept and cycle of time. We sincerely invite you to follow the artist’s lead and feel the flow and rhythm of life through the animal images and their spiritual qualities depicted in his paintings.
‘Everyone living in this world is a traveler.’ This concept not only applies to humans but is also deeply reflected in the life experiences of animals. The artist uses his unique technique – applying glue pigments and various foils on traditional Japanese Washi paper to delicately depict the texture of animals, injecting a rich sense of layering into his works. He vividly presents the majestic and spirited appearances of animals. In the face of fate, animals never escape. Instead, they join hands with their companions, bravely face challenges, overcome difficulties, and embark on an unknown journey.
The animals under Yoshiya Shirota’s brush reveal subtle messages through their body language, creating more imaginative space for the works. He hopes that viewers can feel the spirit, temperament, and vitality displayed by the animals and integrate them with their own life experiences to trigger an inner resonance. This exhibition aims to inspire viewers to overcome their inner fears and maintain their beliefs, facing life with fearless adventurous spirit like animals. Everyone is on their own journey, experiencing the rich rewards bestowed by life in a unique way. ‘Journey 9’ also provides viewers with an opportunity to reflect on their own journey and think about the direction and meaning of life. Rich Art sincerely invites art lovers from all walks of life to embark on this exploration journey intertwined with art and life.
