Established in 1984, Wang Ding initially started as a clock movement subcontractor. It wasn’t until 1995 that, in response to the advent of the global village, the company embarked on a seven-year endeavor in collaboration with the Industrial Technology Research Institute to develop the ‘World Time Movement’. This innovation enabled the creation of ‘World Time Clocks’, which automatically adjust time and display day and night based on time zones and spatial transitions, thus crafting watches that defy imagination and have garnered multiple design awards.
After nearly half a century, Wang Ding aims to document, preserve, and bear witness to the historical trajectory of the company and Taiwan’s watchmaking industry. In order to allow the public a glimpse into the professional processes of precision watchmaking, the ‘Wang Ding Time Science and Art Experience Hall’ was established at the end of 2013. Through watch exhibitions, process tours, and DIY experiences, the hall hopes to enhance the public’s knowledge and understanding of time, and to experience the mysteries of time.
Opening hours are 9:00-12:00 and 13:00-17:00 all year round.
