Zuozh Fossil Park has amassed a collection of fossils from marine and terrestrial organisms such as mammoths, saber-toothed tigers, ancient deer, crocodiles, and shellfish. The significant feature is the large number of terrestrial vertebrate fossils that have been unearthed, along with collection items like Zuozhen human skull fragments and the reconstructed skeleton of the early Chinese rhinoceros, making it an irreplaceable fossil treasure trove in Taiwan. Today, Zuozhen Fossil Park has transformed and expanded from a single pavilion to five major exhibition halls.
The Natural History Education Hall simulates the geological strata of Zuozhen, where visitors can experience a variety of interactive devices, such as fossil excavation and riverbed fossil observation.

The Story Hall features the Xinhua Hills, displaying artifacts of the Siraya people, including the Xingpu documents, and recognizing the contributions of ‘Fossil Grandpa’ Chen Chunmu, who collected fossils throughout his life.

The Evolution of Life Hall presents the battle for the beach by marine life, with dinosaurs that once dominated the Earth now situated in the atrium, followed by the rise of mammals on the historical stage, witnessing the prosperity and decline of life evolution.

The Fossil Hall features an augmented reality interactive sandbox that allows visitors to understand the origins of fossils in the Cailiaoxi River basin. However, the most eye-catching exhibit is undoubtedly the full skeleton of the early Chinese rhinoceros.

The Exploration Hall reveals the mystery of the Zuozhen people, and visitors can get a glimpse of the restoration of fossils in the fossil cleaning room. At the Paint Magic Interactive Classroom, visitors can interact and feed the colored Cailiaoxi fauna.

Like the public art ‘Reverse Clock’ in the park, it encourages people to question and think in reverse. The ancient fossils lead people to trace back to the past, like a treasure given by the god of time, giving us the opportunity to open our immersive imagination and maintain our curiosity about natural science.

The park is open all year round, Monday-Tuesday, Thursday-Sunday from 09:00 to 17:00; closed all day on Wednesday.
