The Huaihai Campaign Shuangduiji Martyrs’ Cemetery is located to the south of Shuangduiji, Suixi County, Huaibei City, Anhui. It spans 368 meters from east to west and 292 meters from north to south, covering an area of 10.6 hectares. The construction of the martyrs’ cemetery began in 1976, and the Huaihai Campaign Martyrs’ Monument was completed in October 1981. The Shuangduiji Annihilation Battle Memorial Hall was completed in October 1988. The main entrance of the cemetery faces east, with two ponds, each covering an area of 1250 square meters, on either side within the gate. A broad and straight main road leads to the monument. The southern Jian Gu Dui is a Neolithic cultural site and was a fiercely contested strategic high ground during the Shuangduiji annihilation battle of the Huaihai Campaign. The cemetery is filled with landscape trees such as cedars, dragon cypresses, and boxwoods, as well as flower beds and orchards. The plaque ‘Huaihai Campaign Shuangduiji Martyrs’ Cemetery’ was inscribed by Qi Gong, a member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association. The cemetery is open all year round from 8:00 to 17:00.
