The main activities of the 2024 Zijin Culture and Art Festival, sponsored by the Publicity Department of Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and the Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles, will be held from September to October. On September 13, the festival’s new repertoire performances will kick off the first show in Huai’an. With celebrating the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China as the main line, through sections such as opening and closing performances, new repertoire performances, exhibitions of excellent stage art works, exhibitions of excellent art works, ‘Youthful Art Movement’ youth artist exhibitions, college student drama exhibitions, small theater repertoire exhibitions, and mass cultural activities, it will showcase the latest achievements of literary and artistic creations in the province and sing the high-spirited main theme of the times. In October, 21 literary and artistic masterpieces that have won national and provincial awards and been selected into creative support plans such as the National Arts Fund, as well as a number of traditional classic works that carry forward excellent traditional Chinese culture and are widely praised in the market, will be presented to the audience one by one. Among them are Suju Opera ‘Soul of the National Tripod’, Huaiju Opera ‘Small Town’, dance drama ‘Zhu Ziqing’, Kunqu Opera ‘Poetry Banquet – Biography of Talented Scholars in Tang Dynasty’ and other works painstakingly created by literary and artistic troupes in our province.
