The Tangshan Earthquake Ruins Memorial Park began construction in April 2008 and was initially completed and opened in July 2008. With a total area of 400,000 square meters and a total investment of 600 million yuan, it is an earthquake ruins park with the theme of ‘commemoration’. The park design fully embodies the concepts of’respecting nature, caring for life, exploring science, and recalling history’.
Taking the rails of the original Tangshan Locomotive and Rolling Stock Factory as the vertical axis and the commemorative avenue as the horizontal axis, it is divided into areas such as the earthquake ruins area, commemorative water area, commemorative forest area, and commemorative square. The earthquake museum was completed in October 2009. The commemorative square in the park covers an area of 30,000 square meters. The ground is paved with black and white marble and can accommodate tens of thousands of people to hold major assembly activities. It is an important place in the park for people to commemorate their relatives and pay tribute to the deceased. The opening hours are from 07:00 to 19:00 all year round.Tangshan Earthquake Ruins Memorial Park
