The stone carving statue group of Qianxiang Temple is currently a large-scale Liao Dynasty folk stone carving statue group with a relatively wide distribution area in the country. The stone carving statue group of Qianxiang Temple has high historical, artistic and scientific value, providing extremely precious physical materials for the archaeological research of Liao Dynasty Buddhism and the study of folk traditional line engraving techniques.

According to legend, an eminent monk in the Tang Dynasty came here with a staff from afar. Suddenly, he saw a thousand monks washing their alms bowls beside the clear spring pool under the mountain rock. When he looked closely, they disappeared in an instant. The eminent monk built a temple here and engraved a thousand Buddha statues on the mountain slope and stream stones according to what he saw.

There are 97 places and 446 statues in the stone carving statue group. Among them, the standing Buddha has a bun on the top of his head, a plump face, and steps on a lotus flower. It is 1.5 meters high and 0.44 to 0.49 meters wide. The sitting Buddha is 1.3 meters high and the lotus pedestal is 1.09 meters wide. It has the style of Tang Dynasty statues and is the only existing cliff carving in Tianjin area.
