Chuk Lin Temple is one of the oldest Buddhist temples in the Hsinchu area, often referred to as one of the ‘Three Great Temples’ of Hsinchu, alongside the City God Temple and the Tianhou Temple. The temple houses numerous antiques from the Qing Dynasty, with the three clay and gold-painted Guanyin statues in the main hall, as well as the eighteen Arhat statues on either side, vividly displayed. It also preserves a rare ‘Da Hai Ci Yun’ imperial plaque with double dragon decorations on both sides, which is of great value. The temple is open all year round from 05:00 to 22:00, with specific operating conditions subject to the daily opening status.
