In 1867 AD, Guo Liangzhen, the first-generation founder of Guo Yuan Yi, opened a cake shop in Shilin using Yuan Yi, the hall name of his ancestral house in Fujian. He carried forward the ancestral cake-making skills. And with the hall name ‘Yuan Yi’ of the Guo family’s ancestral house in Fujian, he laid the foundation for the cake shop. In 1945, the third-generation operator Guo Qinding added the family name Guo to the shop name Yuan Yi to become ‘Guo Yuan Yi’. So far, two Guo Yuan Yi Cake Museums have been established, promoting the mission of inheritance and development of cakes. Opening hours: Open all year round from 9:00 to 17:00.
