In the past few decades, MONO has been at the forefront of instrumental rock, pushing boundaries and exploring new sounds, making them one of the most significant bands in Asia. As they celebrate their 25th anniversary, MONO is set to embark on their first Asian tour, accompanied by a 12-piece orchestra, promising an unforgettable performance. This tour comes on the heels of the success of their new album, ‘OATH’.

‘OATH’ has been a journey for MONO, delving into existential themes that have resonated with audiences since 2020. The album prompts us to consider our limited lives, questioning our purpose and actions. Over the past 25 years, MONO has consistently explored the interplay of light and darkness, hope amidst disaster, and the duality of life and death. In ‘OATH’, their 12th album, they ponder the essence of time and how to make the most of it.

Steve Albini, a long-time collaborator, joined MONO in the recording and mixing process, crafting an album that begins like a sunrise. The slow rise of orchestral and brass sections sets the stage, allowing MONO to immerse in the atmosphere before the violins join in. Throughout the 71-minute journey of ‘OATH’, MONO takes us on a contemplative ride through time and life, adding a signature MONO track with a rich, atmospheric sound that elevates the album to new heights.

With ‘OATH’, MONO challenges themselves and their listeners with an existentialism that resonates widely, offering compassionate reflection rather than fleeting moments. As Takaakira ‘Goto’ of MONO reflects, “We live in a vow that has not changed since we were young. Listening to the wind sing, we are a part of the universe, and we already know what we should do and what is most important in life.”Doors will open on November 6th. Performance times and the duration are subject to the specific venue.
