Previously, this was a winding and difficult path. Later, in 1923, when Crown Prince Hirohito of the East Palace visited Taiwan, Yucheng Road was constructed as a stone slab road in the name of commemoration and was named Yucheng Road Ancient Trail ever since. At the same time as building the stone slab road, a ‘Yiran Pavilion’ was built at the entrance of the ancient trail to provide a resting place for people who come for hiking. The ancient trail is still well maintained to this day and is the preferred trail for people’s mountain hiking and exercise. Open all year round and all day.
