Yancheng Sanshan King Temple, also known as Yancheng Temple, is a significant religious landmark situated in Yancheng District, Kaohsiung City. It serves as the spiritual heart of Yancheng Village.
The temple’s origins trace back to the ancestors who migrated from southern Fujian, China, to Takao. Recognizing the area’s potential for fishing and salt production, they established communal living spaces with simple bamboo fences and thatched huts. In reverence, they brought the revered Sanshan King, enshrining him within the temple.
The temple is open to visitors all year round, with operating hours from 05:30 AM to 9:30 PM.
