Hehuan Mountain, also known as the main peak of Hehuan. It is one of the top one hundred mountains in Taiwan and is located at the junction of Hualien County and Nantou County. Since the surrounding area is connected by seven peaks and is collectively called the Hehuan Peaks. It is the watershed of major rivers in Taiwan such as the Dajia River, the Zhuoshui River and the Liwu River. In winter, Hehuan Mountain is covered with snow and is known as the’snowy town’.


In spring and summer, the Yushan dwarf bamboo grassland and Yushan rhododendron and Rhododendron rubropilosum flower clusters have pleasant scenery. There are Hehuan Villa and Songxue Tower providing accommodation in the Hehuan Mountain area. It is located at 33K on Taiwan Route 14A. There is an observation deck beside the highway where you can overlook the Qilai Peaks. This place is also the starting point for climbing the East Peak of Hehuan, Hehuan Jianshan, Shimenshan and the northern third section of the Central Mountain Range.
