Hinoki Village, known as HinokiVillage in English, is one of the scenic spots in Chiayi City and also a forest cultural and creative park. It was refurbished from the former Forestry Bureau dormitories in the area of Gonghe Road and Linsen East Road. The park includes a Forestry Club and a newly built ‘Agricultural Boutique Pavilion’. Once the official residence of Alishan forestry, it is now a larger historical Japanese-style wooden architecture complex. After years of restoration and planning, the 28 cypress houses carrying historical memories have been transformed into cafes, toy museums, and various cultural and creative shops. Wrapped in the heritage, they are infused with new life, preserving the old culture and allowing new stories to continue to stack. Open all year round from 10:00 to 18:00.
