The Shanghai Zhiqing Museum, located on the southern edge of Shanghai by the picturesque Hangzhou Bay, is a comprehensive and large-scale exhibition hall that reflects the historical period of Shanghai’s educated youth going to the countryside and frontiers over 40 years ago. The museum utilizes modern technological means to combine sound, light, and electricity with the actual scenes of the educated youth era, cultural relics from that time, and wax figures of educated youth, creating a perfect fusion of traditional culture and modern civilization in the scenes of educated youth going to the countryside.
The museum adopts a realistic historical approach to divide the entire exhibition into four parts:
1. The first part, “Go to the Countryside, Go to the Frontier,”
2. The second part, “Vast Land and Unforgettable Years,”
3. The third part, “Adjusting Policies in Response to Public Sentiment,”
4. And the fourth part, “The Sentiment of Educated Youth, Forever Unforgettable.”
These four sections together form a complete narrative of the life of educated youth in the countryside, allowing every visitor to the museum to feel as if they have returned to the era of educated youth. The museum is open all year round from 08:30 to 15:30.
