Alishan Zaoping Park, standing at an elevation of 2274 meters, has always been a remarkable cherry blossom viewing spot in Alishan, boasting a vast view and topography, with a vantage point to overlook the Alishan mountain scenery.
Located beside the Zaoping Station of the Alishan Forest Railway, the park was originally a local logging village that was rebuilt into a park after a fire. With the increasing number of tourists, additional trails and bridges have been constructed.
This is an excellent place to view cherry blossoms on Alishan Mountain, but most of the cherry blossoms here are different from the Yoshino cherry trees found elsewhere, with trees in the park being around seventy to eighty years old. Nearly six hundred cherry trees in the park were planted after the fire. In addition to this, the area is also rich in alpine flora and various flower species, attracting a large number of tourists to the mountain for flower viewing every spring.
Open all year round, the park is accessible 24/7. Essential tips for visiting: Alishan Mountain is a must-visit cherry blossom spot, especially in March when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom and exceptionally beautiful.
