Sunrise is one of the five wonders of Alishan, with the mist swirling around the mountains in the early morning light, creating a boundless sea of clouds; the graceful sunrise emerging from the darkness on the mountaintop attracts tourists from all over the world. Due to the influx of visitors who come for its fame, the number of people wishing to view the sunrise at Zhushan increases during holidays. In light of this, the local Forestry Bureau has constructed one large and three small viewing platforms for everyone to enjoy the sunrise, which offers a more tranquil environment and a much better view compared to the original sunrise viewing flat. Open all year round, accessible 24 hours a day.
Key Tips for Visiting: Alishan is renowned as a prime location for viewing sunrises. The high vantage point and expansive view make it an excellent spot for sunrise spectacles. Currently, a large platform has been built at the sunrise viewing site at Zhushan. After exiting from Zhushan Train Station, a short flight of stairs leads to the platform, with surrounding shops selling souvenirs and food.
