The Tianjin Bangingzi Theater was established in July 1958. It originated from the Tianjin Fuxing Drama Troupe. Currently, it employs over 150 performing arts staff members. The theater operates two performance troupes: the Main Troupe and the Little Hundred Flowers Troupe. With a repertoire of more than 50 preserved plays, the theater frequently tours and performs in urban and suburban areas as well as in northern regions such as Hebei and Shandong provinces. It stages over 200 performances annually and gains immense popularity among audiences.
