The Buluowan Recreation Area features elegantly designed bamboo houses in the style of the indigenous Atayal people. Additionally, it includes a dome-shaped dance floor, a dining department, and a cultural exhibition hall, all of which recreate the traditional lifestyle of the Atayal mountain dwellers and showcase their rich culture. Surrounding the bamboo houses are forests of osmanthus bamboo, peach, plum, mountain cherry, and sweetgum trees, creating a beautiful and serene landscape.
Buluowan, derived from the phonetic translation of the Atayal language, means ‘echo’. When the Atayal people crossed from the Taichung area over the Qilai Mountain Range into this region, they encountered heavy rain and heard the resounding thunder echoing through the valley, leaving a profound impression. Thus, the area was named Buluowan. The area is open to visitors from 8:30 to 16:00 all year round.Buluowan Recreation Area
