This temple enshrines the incense of Sanshan King invited from Jieyang County, Chaozhou Prefecture during the Ming Zheng dynasty. At that time, the military and civilians of Chaozhou Prefecture came to Taiwan with King Yanping Zheng. Due to the folk belief that Sanshan King is the mountain god and martial god, who can prevent headhunting and foreign invasion and protect villages, people all worship devoutly. In the 38th year of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, local gentry raised funds to carve statues and build a nunnery for worship.
